Who is this course for?

This is for students who wish to begin their study of French at senior secondary level and have successfully completed French Beginners A.

Enrolment with no prior studies of Stage 1 French Beginners A is to be negotiated with an Â鶹ÊÓƵ Languages Leader.

Completion of enrolment depends on meeting the eligibility criteria set by the SACE Board. New students who have taken Stage 1 French Beginners A at institutions other than Â鶹ÊÓƵ must submit an eligibility form.

This course progresses at an accelerated and intensive rate. Students are expected to develop their skills and intercultural competency quickly.

Completing this course opens a pathway to Stage 2 French Beginners.

What will I learn?

Students are expected to develop and apply their linguistic and intercultural knowledge, understanding, and skills to:

1. interact with others in French in interpersonal situations
2. create texts in French for specific audiences, purposes, and contexts
3. analyse texts that are in French to interpret meaning.

How will I be assessed?

Students will demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

• Assessment Type 1: Oral Interaction
• Assessment Type 2: Text Production
• Assessment Type 3: Text Analysis
